Local Fine Wine Delivery & Case Transport

Local fine wine delivery moves one or more cases of wine between two local addresses — a home, a storage facility, a retailer, an event venue — in a cooled vehicle with careful handling, for collectors who don't want valuable bottles riding in a hot car. It's ideal for small moves, auction pickups, gifts and event wine.

What's included

  • Single-case to multi-case runs
  • Pickups from storage facilities, retailers and private homes
  • Delivery to event venues with timed drop-off
  • Kept cool throughout — never left in a parked vehicle

When a small move still deserves care

Even two or three cases can represent thousands of dollars. Ten minutes in a closed car in the sun can make the interior dangerously hot for wine. A short, cooled, direct delivery is inexpensive insurance for wine you've been saving.

Backed by a local wine merchant

Your wine is moved by Meritage Wine Market

MoveMyWine is run by the team at Meritage Wine Market, an independent wine shop with locations in Encinitas and Santa Barbara. When you book a move, you're trusting your collection to people who look after fine wine for a living.

  • Two local wine shops

Brick-and-mortar stores in Encinitas and Santa Barbara — real people you can visit, not a call center.

  • Wine merchants, not general movers

The team buys, stores and sells fine wine every day, so handling your collection is their core skill, not a side line.

  • Part of the local wine community

Meritage hosts regular tastings and events and runs wine clubs for local collectors.

The process

How a wine move works

  1. 1

    Tell us about the move

Bottle count, both addresses and your date. Two minutes, no obligation.

  2. 2

    Walkthrough & written quote

A specialist confirms access and packing — by video or in person for larger cellars.

  3. 3

    Inventory & white-glove packing

Each bottle is recorded and packed into molded wine shippers on site.

  4. 4

    Careful, direct transport

Your wine goes straight to its destination — never left sitting in a truck between stops.

  5. 5

    Delivery & racking

Checked against the inventory, then racked in your cellar or placed in storage.

Local Wine Delivery by area

Local Wine Delivery: common questions

Can you deliver wine locally on short notice?

Local delivery of a case or a few cases can often be arranged within a few days, depending on schedule and distance. For gifts, events, or moving a handful of cases between homes, include your preferred date and a backup date in the quote form and the team will confirm what's possible.

Is there a minimum number of bottles?

There's no strict minimum — moves range from a few cases to cellars of several thousand bottles. For very small quantities (one or two cases) on a local move, a careful DIY move in an air-conditioned car on a cool day may be enough; for anything larger or more valuable, professional handling is worth it. Tell us your rough bottle count and we'll match you with the right service.

Why does wine need climate control during a move?

Wine needs climate control during a move because heat and temperature swings are what damage it, not distance. Warm conditions speed up aging and can 'cook' a wine, flattening its fruit, while repeated warming and cooling makes the liquid expand and contract, which can push the cork and let air in. A car trunk or an ordinary moving truck on a Southern California afternoon is the biggest risk, which is why fine wine should travel in a climate-controlled vehicle.
